Is that a real shot or photoshop? Looks good whatever. What was the source?

I flew on a day like that recently, no Spitfire flew by sadly. But flying does give you the opportunity to see some stunning views particularly when the clouds or fog cooperate.

Looks like a screenshot from FSX to me.

    I found it on http://imgur.com/.
I have no experience of FSX so I can't say if it's a screenshot or not. If you zoom into the photo the pixellation looks normal enough.

    BBMF Spitfire IX, UF-Q, MK356.

Looks real enough - if I could get my FSX to look like that I'd be a happy camper! Even with high res 3D clouds form REX it's not that good....

FSX can look very realistic especially if the screenshots have been edited..eg here's a couple of my own shots from the sim

Doesn't look that a screenie to me. Looks amazing though. The FSX ones do. But they are very good aswell.

I'd imagine that this is the skin that was used

Yeah. Those FS screenshots are great but do look like screenshots. The OP pics just looks like a lovely days with a silver finish on the spit which we are not used to seeing.

Nforce's link to the skin gives me doubts though. of course the skin is based on a real aircraft.

Really hard to tell. Like others have said, the screenshots from FSX, while looking really good, still look computer generated, whereas the Spitfire one doesn't (though the Spitfire is a lot smaller in the centre of the pic compared to the size of the aircraft in the screenshots, and it's the aircraft that shows it's a screenshot in my opinion).

One thing though, in the link that Nforce put up to the skin, the roundels on the top of the wings are that little bit further forward (almost right on the leading edge of the wing) than the ones in the original pic. It's a small difference, but it is a difference...
