I've been offered a ticket but I'm not sure about it. Don't get me wrong, it's the cleaning up afterwards I'm wondering about.

I did the 5k in March and am doing the 10k on Sat. As you would expect it is very muddy and very very cold but I have to say it's the most fun I've ever had running. They'll hose you down afterwards so if you bring some old (warm) clothes to change into you'll be grand.

I wore old runners last time and it was fine. I threw out the T-Shirt I wore during the race but washed the shorts and they were fine. The runners got a good hose down and are ok to wear again for things like this.

My advice - DO IT!!!

Regular trainers, astro turf runners or football boots with non-metal studs are fine but No Running Spikes are permitted please.

so, I guess it depends on the type of spikes. non-metal studed football/rugby/gaa boots are probably allow

I went along. Did the 10k. It was really cool. Clothes were destroyed

The sun gave off just enough heat to not be freezin so that was good.

Football boots came in handy for the slippy much parts. They hindered on hard concrete surface so it's a tradeoff.

Organisation was good too (cos people can't really complain about getting mucky ). Free fruit at the end was well appreciated.

I did the 5k...perfect conditions for the run, the bit of sun was just enough to keep the cold off. Well organised and a great atmosphere all round.
The issues with parking did seem to be sorted this time around. Although as I started in the first wave I was probably one of the first out so not sure if people experienced problems later on.
The power hose at the end felt lovely and warm...not sure if it was or whether I was just so cold
The rest of my team (all first-timers) really enjoyed it and I can see it becoming a regular on the calendar.

Why is it listing me and alt of other people as DNF when we did? And they cut the chip off me? Hopefully it updates soon.

Nope just emailed the organiser and my chip wasn't detected at the finish line.

Bizarre, because at the Dublin Half Marathon (the last race I did) my chip wasn't detected either. The four people in my team at Run Amuck who put the chip on exactly the same way as me, all worked.

How do chips work? I'm starting to think I have a bizarre electro magnetic field and they dont work for some people?!!!
