Ebike conversion kit

    Hi all,

I've got a bicycle with 28" wheels and I'm thinking about buying an ebike conversion kit - I'm cycling to go to work and there's a nasty hill on the way, I'd prefer not to be sweating when I arrive at work.

I've done some research but I really can't find any place in Dublin that can do that. I found only two places, ElectricBikes.ie and CyclePower.ie but they're out of stock at the moment and as they're importing from China it'll take three months before they have anything.

Any ideas? I'd prefer the shop to do the installation for me but if the DIY isn't too hard I'd be fine with buying it online from abroad and doing it myself.

Hey! I'm the same. Looking at an ebike kit. I've been researching for the past year an I'm about to buy from "conhismotor". They're the only one on ebay that have been reviewed afaik.

I like the look of that new cycle computer on the 2012/2013 conversion kit.

Make sure you get a "LiPO4" battery, theyve a +1000 cycle recharge life.

Just buy a Feddz electric bike http://www.emo-bike.de/FEDDZ/Elektro-Kleinkraftrad.html
I had a spin on one this week at a trade fare in Germany and its class... But you'll need nearly €5k.
There was a company there selling kits for €150 but I'm not sure who they were. The show was ecartec so you might be able to find them on the fair website

Hi everyone, I'm new here, sorry if I'm in the wrong place for this,
I've just recieved my conversion kit, from orange imports in the UK.
All set up, can't get the motor to go unless I lift the front wheel, turn the wheel in the opposite direction and engage the throttle, when I turn throttle off it won't work again,
It's doing my head in, can't get in contact with company, all connections are good,
    Any suggestions will be great

    Thanks in advance

I bought a mobility scooter for the mother-in-law from http://www.ciebike.ie/products.html

Good service, they specialise in the whole ebike thing, distribute to dealers, but sell to the public too.

Are you sure you put the wheel on the right way around?
Most will disconnect the motor when the brake lever is pressed.
Some are designed to stop if the pedals are not rotating.
All will stop if the throttle or switch are off.
If yours has more than one mode combinations of the above may apply. Re read the manual.

Yes wheel is on correct, it will work on pedal assist, but throttle won't engage, just left message with dealer, no manual as such came, just pics.. It's easy in fairness. But just at wall with the throttle.

    Thanks for your reply.

Sounds like connections are reversed. If positive onto negative then motor may run in reverse.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself very well,
Wheel is working fine on pedal assist, but to get the throttle to work the only way is reverse the wheel for a turn then engage the throttle and it goes forward, but when I this engage throttle it won't go again, not the end of the world but very anoying, cable or the throttle is faulty I'd say..
Still waiting in call from supplier :-(

    Thanks anyway
