I applied about 4 weeks ago for JSA and got it all completed about a week later. I never got a social welfare card but I went in today today anyway sign on. I was asked why hadn't I a card and I said how it hadn't came yet. She checked on her computer and realised it hadn't even been sent for. A friend of mine who signed on around the same time already got her card and a letter stating she has 200 last week. Will I get now the back log of when I first applied or when my card comes in or will it be from today? do things like this usually happen will I go in again to them to make sure its all sorted?

If you have an entitlement to it you will get you jobseekers backdated to the date of application.
