Turbulence question ?

    In turbulence, as seen above, would the effect of the turbulence be greater at seats at the base of the wings, or at the extremities of the aircraft. ie the first and last rows ?

    turbulence is definitely always more noticeable at extremities of the aircraft. I have read about it and also witnessed as frequent flyer - getting back to your seat is easier once you're close to wings while it is clearly visible that people at the back of the aircraft are "break-dancing". In long planes, such as b757, a321 while sitting in back on a heavy turbulence you can actually see how both ends of the plane are bending a bit

    Airbus A340 Pilots are trained not to react to the flexing of the fuselage on rotation on the streched A340's which have very ling fuselages felt as feedback thought the stick.

    the closer to the wings the better. You definitely notice the difference even on flights that don't encounter 'turbulence' as it is defined if you sit in the back row of any aircraft you will generally feel a little more movement then say those further up the cabin who may feel nothing at all. Remember being quite a bit rough on a Snowflake (remember them ?) MD-8? to CPH and the fasten seat belt sign was still off. Same on an EI A321 from AMS. Hmmm they were both work trips, I'm now wondering why that halfwhit in Travel seems to prefer I sit at the back but thats another question.
