Buying "completed to wall plate level"

    I've come across a property for sale which is completed to wall plate level. Its 3,000 sqft and is on a 1.25 acre site. I know that it has been lying idle for at least a year if not two.
    Are there hidden dangers in having the block work in this state for so long and then coming along and continuing on?
    Probably a relative question but roughly how much would it cost to finish off the construction?

    Does it have a timber joist first floor? If so, its likely to be rotten, or at least have an excessive moisture content.

    Blockwork would need to be inspected by an Engineer, but masonry and mortar are both porous and will absorb moisture.

    Has the cavity been closed off? Insulation is likely to be saturated.

    With regard to costs - how long is a piece of string.

    Put simply - I wouldn't buy it.

    definitely if they have used PU board in the cavity then it will be destroyed, You'll be doing very well to get a mortgage on a project like that.
    Do your homework on it, maybe there is a reason its only half built.
