Belt Squeal when cold

Theres a belt squeal from my engine when the engine is cold and I'm in a low gear.
I'm thinking this might be the alternator belt. The belts were done about 4 months ago. Has it just lost some tension or is it something more?
If it's just tension how do I tighten it? Its a 98 e11 Corolla with a 4e-fe engine.

Check the condition of the belt, lots of cracks and missing pieces would point to worn belt.

If its good and still squealing possible a worn bearing in the alternator.

If the belts were only done recently then they may need re tensioning now that they have bedded in as the corolla uses manual tensioners.

Also check to make sure that there is no oil leak onto the belts.

I'll check the belts for damage or oil.
How do I properly tension them? Never done it before.
