They are a very nice guitar indeed. Really nice neck, you wont find better for the money I reckon.

    I have a 50's and 60's model.

Here's the 60's. It's loud when playing it through the JamVox I have, it's no where near as bad when plugged into my BLues Deluxe.

It's one of the better made models, I'm pretty certain that the other squiers in the same price range are supposed to be equally as good. That would include, telecsaters, jazzmasters and other shapes also.

Being honest, if you've only been playing a month, you're not really going to notice all that much difference in the feel of a guitar, even telling the difference between a good, and a not so good guitar is something that takes time to develop.

My advice would actually to be to wait if I'm being perfectly honest, no need to go out spending tonnes on gear now. No doubt you'll want an amp upgrade soon also, if you're Les Paul is pretty nice, I wouldn't be in a rush to buy a strat.

I like both my squiers, they play really nice, and the pickups are good too.

Alan's original post got me gassing so my candy apple landed this morning.
I'm very impressed so far by it. I changed the strings & fully shielded it with alu foil
even though it had cavity shielding paint it was slightly noisy (i do this with all my guitars & find it really cuts down on noise)
Its easily as good as any mex strat & has a nice flame running through the neck & the Tonerider pickups are excellent
The only thing i would say is it could do with some decent pots & switch.
You wont get any better than this for the price !

Where did you buy yours ? Wild Turkey.. they initially were around the 270 euro mark now 330-340?
There is also a squier classic vibe Simon Neil that looks pretty good!

i have one sitting beside me an tbh it rivals my Mexi quite well.Hardware aside they aren't too fair off fender standard, pups seem to sound like they have a higher output too but i haven't dived into the electronics in it yet so i couldn't be certain.

    Definitely worth a bash

I got mine on Thomann €333 i think, the Tonerider pickups alone cost around €100 so when you weigh it up its great value

Theres a Simon Neil on adverts if its any good to you.

I ended up getting a squier standard and delighted with it , plays great and so light and comfortable compared to the les paul http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2wce3a8&s=6
