    Hello All,

I just called the Bank of Ireland to get Mexican Peso(s). They don't do them. Where should I get these?

    Airport location in Dublin?
    Airport location in London?
    Arrival in Mexico?

Or Just bring USD like the bank official suggested because I'm going to the USA as well and information on Tripadvisor is that USD are widely accepted. They give change in Peso kind of like going up North. Hand over Euro and they hand back change in GBP.

Just back yesterday from Mexico, take your cash from the machines over there or best place to get a good rate is at the airport your flying to, the departures not the arrivals area!!

And USD not that widely accepted where I was anyway. Sometimes they make ask if you want to pay with dollars but don't as you get ripped off on the change.

I was just in the Credit Union who were promoting services including Foreign Exchange so I asked about Mexican Peso and they had an e-mail from their currency supplier received a few days ago advising customers to take the equivalent of €300 of Peso and the rest in USD.

    Very strange indeed.

Im not sure about the Peso but when I was going to Thailand I changed my Euro to Baht in the airport and also used ATMs in Thailand, I got hammered with the charges on the ATM and the ex rate in the airport was ****e at the time as well. Just saying it might be worth getting it before you go IF you can!

Don't take USD is my advice unless you want to get ripped off.
