engine management light corolla

    hi baught a 00 corolla all was ok, next day engine management light came on put it on computer and no faults showed up reset light off again, next day light was on again and still no faults, car is running ok still have power and all in it what could be wrong

    What are you scanning it with? If the EML is on then there will be a fault recorded, you just need to use the right tool to read it with.

    It was a mechanic that put it on computer for me. proper computer it was.

    I'd imagine its the lambda sensor or air meter throwing up a fault.
    Might be the cat either.
    But there is a fault and the mechanic is missing it.

    Edit: just guessing as the fact there is nothing wrong feeling with the car.

    As gd said you need the proper tool to scan it,had a eml on my avensis and a couple of places couldnt tell what fault it was.
