NCT - offered test same day as phonecall?

Hey all,

I'm buying a car from a dealer, paid a deposit earlier today and was told they'd get the car NCT'ed this week, as it had expired. I know you can contact a few centres to see about cancellations, but assumed the soonest you'd get seen would be late the next day, but just got a call back from the dealer to say the car had already been through the NCT, only a few hours after I paid the deposit!

He said they used a company called NCT 4 Me, anyone ever deal with this crowd before? And has anyone ever had an NCT test happen so quickly before, seems like they must have caught a break or two today!

Some dealers will have an arrangement with certain NCT centres so that they can nct cars pretty much on the same day without the booking. Theres only a handfull of dealers enjoying the privileges tho

I was booking the missus car in a couple of weeks ago and was offered a test that afternoon if I wanted it.

Make sure you get the full NCT report and not just the disc, helps keep a record of what actually occurred during the test.
