Hiya i just want your thoughts on a few filters sets from ebay. I'm a total beginner when it comes to photography so want to keep my costs to an extreme minimum if possible. I own a Canon Powershot SX40HS. On trying to play around with water and slow shutter speed i discovered i need an ND filter. So i checked ebay and came up with these two sets (1 and 2) would i eventually have used for all the filters in 1? My gut is telling me that its a great bargain for all those filters (again bearing in mind i'm a beginner and am just looking for filters to learn with) the only thing missing from 1 is the adapter ring as far as i can tell, plus it comes complete with macro lens which would save me making a second purchase further down the line.

I got cheap filters on ebay once and you do get what you pay for, but the advantage of buying cheap big set is you get to play around till you find what quality filters you might use more than often .

Then I just buy a Hoya filter of the one I really want.

Beware of what ND filter you get. An ND 4 which is normally in those 4 piece sets is not dark enough for long day light exposures of running water. At least thats what I found.
