Spent some time today cleaning/sealing the wheels on my new car to get them sealed up for the winter.
Remember these are brand new wheels so never assume your wheels are grand when you buy a new car, so I hope this post gives some members a bit of inspiration to get their wheels done,

Thats real OCD....brand new car and cleaning it already! :D

The right idea though; getting the wheels sealed up good and early! :)

I don't have any of those products. I have various wheel cleaners and waxes. Mostly meguiars type of stuff. Nowhere to buy detailling stuff locally I believe, bar halfords and various car accessory shops.

Can you use any wax as a sealant?

Of course you can use any polish/wax/sealant but most of those will not stand up the heat from the brakes etc. so you would need to apply very regularly.
I would suggest you order from Cleancar.ie before 4pm and you will have next day delivery.

This is what I personally use and find it does the job.

    Chemical Guys Wheel Guard

    On the other hand,
You could buy this and do the car and wheels with it. (Kill 2 birds)
    excellent winter protection.

Just a bump up for this post for any newcomers looking for advice cleaning their wheels :P

As it happens I topped up with collie 845 once since doing this. I will be removing the wheels for a proper clean again withing the next week. Will take some before and after shots.
