Was chatting to some racing traders in regard to possible opportunities in the industry and something they said which I think could be an excellent and exciting prospect is trading on chinese racing.

I will be covering Singapore and HK racing in my new role (should I get it) and would love to be one of the first people trading on a new Chinese racing industry which is being created at the moment.

China are investing in a horse racing industry. The new 2.6 billion facility being established in China, will be state of the art. Many Coolmore broodmares and stallions are going over too and these links are also very good for Irish exports and businesses.

The equine centre is to be up and running in 2014 and will have several tracks. They want to host a International meeting in 2014 and will need 800 horses for this event alone......SO.....

My question for you is...... How can we take advantage of this? As a country, as individuals and as a possible money spinner ? The biggest economy in the world (or 2nd) is getting a horse racing industry.....There are opportunities everywhere. Its so exciting.

Should we buy a racehorse over there? Should we get stuck into the form as early as possible? Should we forget about the racing over there until it actually fulfils its possible potential? It’s a sleeping giant of racing and although it might take some years, It will be massive there.

    Thoughts?
