A few years one evening back when the OH and I first co habited I sat beside her with a bowl of Rice Krispies and started to eat. She was dumb founded as to why anyone would eat cereal in the evening and never came across this phenomenon before.
Do you ever eat cereal in the afternoon - evening as a snack?

Do you eat cereal outside breakfast hours? 25 votes

    Of course not.

A big bowl of Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes just before bed is the job!

Yeah I do this the whole time as my snack after dinner!

If it's something really nice like crunchy nut feast I'll probably have two bowls :D

Is that as bad as eating curry left overs and cold pizza for breakfast

Of course. Sure wasn't it even on a Corn Flakes ad back sometime in the 90's? Eating cereal at night is done all the time by normal people.

Also, you can eat popcorn with watching a movie. Fact!

Great as a stomach lining snack before going out for the night!

If I have it in the house and I'm feeling very lazy I'll have a bowl of cereal. :)

People say we should be reversing our meals and having dinner sized meals for breakfast and breakfast-like meals for dinner.

That's my justification of it if you catch me eating all of last nights curry in the morning!

Yeah especially coco pops and the chocolate ones - its more wrong to be having the chocolates ones in the morning imo.

You could always have the choco wheetabix, much healthier I would think.

Did you hear about the illegitimate rice krispie?
    he had no pop

I don't usually buy yummy sugary delicious cereal, because if I did, I'd eat it all at all meal times and as snacks in between. I bought rice krispies to make mars bar squares for the beers last week and I keep having a sneaky bowl of them.

I wouldn't be a fan of those now.

Such a child, I won't eat porridge but I love me a bowl of Ready Brek :D

    Your OH is weird.

Cereal is the food of gods and far, far too often I've eaten it for every single meal of the day. (I used to have a serious addiction to the stuff. Think I'm starting to get over it though.)

Commercial cereals are so laden with sugar they're more of a dessert than anything else anyway.

I always thought that this was a very Irish thing. Especially if the fridge was bare late at nite. Nothing worse than a growling stomach at bedtime.

I could live off cereal!! Nom nom nom

I'm 35 later this month and for as long as I can remember I've eaten cereal whenever I felt like something light and easy to eat. Just an hour or so ago I had a bowl of muesli and Kelloggs Mini Max. It went down well.

I used to as a kid. Could be two or three bowls of corn flakes some evenings.

Then I stopped eating breakfast altogether and I fell out of the habit of having cereal for a snack. Wouldn't be into it now tbh, too much energy in it. I'd rather a cup of tea and a biscuit for a snack than a whole bowl of cereal.

I only eat porridge for breakfast and simply don't fancy the idea of eating it late in the day.

I'm a bit of a health nut so always have my meals and approximate times to eat planned out, so never really crave any snacks

Me neither. The natural order is:
    cereals <= pigs/horses etc.<= me <= Rottweilers <= sharks <= Soup

Got totally addicted to tropical fruit Master Crumble cereal from Lidl a few years ago. Three bowls of it a day was all I ate for over two weeks. It really cut the costs of my living expenses :)

Golden balls from Lidl are amazing any time of the day.

Guy I live with (30), only eats 5 things-chicken, white pudding, milk, vitamin C tablets and bran flakes. He eats cereal at least 3 or 4 times a day. Goes through about 4 boxes of bran flakes a week.

He never has any fruit or vegetables. Just lots and lots of bran flakes. At least he's getting some fibre into his diet
