    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and looking for some advice. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed last Tuesday in hospital. The top two came out fine, but both my lower ones were badly impacted.

The surgery went well but I'm not noticing any easing when it comes to my pain levels. Basically I'm still in agony and still depending on the painkillers the surgeon prescribed to me. After 5 days should I be noticing an improvement?

My swelling has started to subside, but my pain is still pretty bad and I'm starting to worry.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Hi,

I had my 4 wisdom teeth out a few years ago and I can honestly say the pain was horrific! I was so swollen, mine were impacted also and I felt I looked like a hamster!!

Keep taking pain meds but my I had to go back to my own dentist after a week to get another prescription for antibiotics and pain medication, I found ice packs really helped, alternating them on either side allowed me to sleep.

I know you are in pain now but It is worth it, I suffered for so long with them and delighted I don't have that pain now!!

    Possibly dry socket....
Not many dental surgeries open at the weekend, if you're keen to resolve the issue, it's worth arranging to see someone (dentist/oral surgeon) tomorrow to get checked out.
