    Hi all,
I bought a UHF aerial today and when I popped off the cover I expected to see a "plate" to connect the cable to, instead there are only some screws (screenshot attached). I haven't seen one like this before?

    Help is appreciated...

The coax. cable inner conductor will go to 1 of the screw connections (doesn't matter which). Twist the braid into a 'pigtail' & connect it to the other screw.

That is a cheap nasty aerial without a balun. Don't bother wiring it up. Take it back and get a decent aerial. Otherwise next week you'll be posting about reception problems.

You can add a kind of balun by having about 4 turns 15cm diameter loop in the coax near the aerial, about 30cm from connection.

I hope you didn't pay more than about €8. It's a very cheap aerial.

    Hey guys.

Wired this up today and works like a charm. After all the comments about the crappyness of this (paid €11) I was surprised. Especially as I live in the middle of no where and I installed in the attic.

All the comments were appreciated. Thank you.
