Sky Samsung HD box - FTA query

    Update 2 - Should I be able to use other channels to get Ch4 / E4 / More4 / Ch5 on this type of box or has Sky blocked it off?


    MY parents have a sky samsung hd box which is out of contract. When they click on channel 4 it says it is the wrong card for the box (white card). Click on bbc and it comes through fine.
    Rte1 etc are 101, 102.

    Have removed the card but it says insert sky card for channels such as channel 4.

    Can I permanently reset the box so that bbc1, bbc2 are 101, 102 and that I can setup favorites of the fta channels for them? I would prefer to avoid using the other channels method for channels like Ch4, Ch5 if possible.

    Any help appreciated.


    Update - Did some searching and see that sky have stopped the ability to get the uk epg but should I be able to add channels via other channels. When I add them and then go to the other channels it says "insert your sky viewing card". I thought that I would be able to get Ch4 / E4 / More4 / Ch5.

    Does the temporary use of a uk fta card work to get the epg.
