    Hi all

Not to sure if this is the correct place to post. I am in the process of setting up a van based service business, i need to watch the euro's but i also need a reliable vehicle(small van, caddy, berlingo etc). What would be the best option for the first 2-3 years of trading lease or hire purchase?
Also if anyone knows of a company i could contact would be great.

Do you have a vat number? If you don't then I would imagine none of the leasing companies will lease to you as a private individual. Some of the leasing lads here should be able to verify this though.

Personally, if you are only starting out then I would start off with buying a cheap van until you are up and running and take it from there.

The question is, as a new start up company, would a finance house approve a contract hire/hire purchase deal? I'd doubt it.

Best option is to buy a small van cheap and use it for the first year. If it and the business works out, then you can look at a brand new van.

Thanks for the replies guys, the sensible option probably would be a cheap van for the first year.

Might be worth giving Northgate a shout - http://www.northgatevehiclehire.ie/

I doubt any of the leasing companies would finance a new start up, but Northgate seem to be between contract hire and rental so might be able to sort something. Lower overheads than buying and running your own van/vans.

Good luck with the new venture. When you've a couple of years of good trading history and looking to order multiple vans, drop me a pm :-)
