Hey! Iv been on JSA for about 8 months since iv come back from Australia. But i had been on JSA before that. Iv got a letter from my local social welfare office saying to call in next week in relation to my claim.

It says please have the following availible for inspection.

    -Proof of identity
    -bank statements
    -tenancy agreement
    -mortgage details
-any other information relevant to your financial situation
    and a few other things

Did all jobseekers receive this or is it a one off

Standard procedure. Make sure you make copies of all documents as sometimes these things get 'lost'.

Bring in any job applications you've filled in and letters you may have received saying thanks but no thanks it goes to show you're actively seeking employment. You may yet lose your claim depending on your situation.

    They don't normally ask for:-

    Proof of identity
    -bank statements
    -tenancy agreement
    -mortgage details
-any other information relevant to your financial situation

type of information when calling people in to explain their efforts in seeking work.

As other poster says, it sounds like a random check.
