ok so every country pays taxes its a simple part of life, in Ireland do we pay our fair share or not?
Just off hand there is
household tax 100 euros
TV license (tax) 160 euros
septic tank tax 5 euros
obviously not including VAT, VRT wage levy, etc
How can we be in debt when we are taxed that much? do the government waste it?

just a very, very short list - feel free to add to it. no wonder robberies are on the increase
when will we all realise that enough is enough?
the big question i am getting at here in my little rant is is there anything the 'ordinary' joe soap can do about it?

Overall, the level of tax in Ireland is average, or maybe below average, compared to other countries.

PRSI in particular is very low at 4%. It's 11% in NI, and about 20% in Germany. Of course they get more benefits, but we still do well for 4%.

Fuel excise duty here is lower than several other countries.

No real property tax, yet.

Very high MTRs here on average workers, crazy high.
