Urgent: Tooth mobility during orthodontic treatment with rubber bands

I'm going through orthodontic treatment with rubber bands. They are currently attached to the 4th tooth (premolar) on both sides of the lower jaw (and to the 5th and 6th upper ones). I felt today slight pain in the 4th tooth on the right lower jaw that has a rubber band attached to it. I touched it and realized that the tooth wobbles when I do that. I tried the same with the 4th on the other side (where I don't have pain) and it's the same. At first I thought I'm imagining it but comparing it to the reaction of other teeth when I touch them confirmed to me that I am not.

What should I do? I hate as during the treatment always all the problems were on Fridays and I now have to wait until at least Monday. My immediate question is: should I continue wearing the rubber bands? My second would be: is this normal or common? Does it have to do with the fact I had periodontitis (which is now under control by a periodontist who approved the orthodontic treatment)? Would I be able to continue the orthodontic treatment? Are my teeth going to fall out?

    In one word... HELP!

Edit: Still not 100% certain that the teeth were really wobbling, though it sure did seem like that to me. But I don't want to try and check again by pushing the teeth now in fear it would hurt them.

Increased mobility in the teeth is a common side effect of braces and is usually not a problem, the amount of mobility is important but we cannot tell at. Don't stress, it's sounds normal and go to your orthodontist next week for reassurance.

Wore braces myself for 4 years as a teenager, the teeth wobbled pretty much all the time, even took a year or two for my teeth to properly "bed in" and become solid in the jaw after I had the braces removed, so don't worry too much about it.

Naturally you should avoid chewing on anything which puts stress on the teeth like a really tough piece of caramel or a stick of rock candy, but otherwise you don't need to worry about it.

Thanks for the reassuring posts; I appreciate it. I've managed to get a hold on the orthodontist on the phone today and he told me to come for a check up next week and to not use the rubber bands until then.

The doctor checked my teeth and said that the mobility degree is perfectly acceptable. He told me that I can wear the thinner rubber bands for now, something that I had originally suggested on the phone. So everything seems to be alright. Thanks again.
