Head cold and general anaesthesia

A relative is due for surgery early next week, has been waiting a very very long time for it...and has a head cold. He'll be having joint replacement, with general and epidural.

I know no one can tell me for sure, but if he's still got it on the day of surgery is it likely to be cancelled? Definitely only a head cold, not chesty at all.

    Thanks
