    Get TDI version 2.5l, non turbo 2.4l very underpowered, had a 01 non turbo. Vacuum pumps give trouble but not expensive to fix. Steering rack very expensive to replace, 2.4l engine is pretty reliable (my experience), turbo engine better get up and go. Usual VW once maintained should be reliable.

    Bought an LT28 in the end - bigger and more useable body-size wise, 2.5tdi. Time will tell...:) On another note, a lad on Donedeal had a kempi Mig welder and a sip bandsaw for sale for €200 each. Sold. Before. I. Got To. Ring. Him. I may be bitter for some time - anyone into metal bashing will know what I mean.
