Hi, on the census records are fan windows over doors included in the 'windows in front' column?

    Thanks

I doubt they would be included ... I'd say a feature of the door, rather than a separate window

as a matter of interest I check the building returns for some houses that I know have over-door fan windows at the top of Lwr. Leeson St. which are as they were in 1911. They are listed with 8 windows, which matches the current buildings - 1 window on the ground floor, 2 on each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors, and one on the lower floor/basement.

    Thanks Shane,
I was looking at a house on charles street sligo which was home to an ancestor of mine and the amount of windows compared to what is on the returns is not the same. I will have to take another look and try to make sense of it.....
