Rusted Spark Plugs

It seems all four of my spark plugs are rusted to the engine and I cant seem to get them free. I've tried warming the engine up and seeing if that work but no joy, I've put a bit of WD40 on them and still nothing.

Any suggestions? I don't want to try force them too much and risk snapping the plug off in the engine.

WD40 is pretty poor as a penetrant - use plusgas or pb blaster

Where would I get that? Woodies? Should I leave the plugs soak in that over night with the HT leads off?

No sure - maybe local motor factors? I got mine from fleabay

Pretty impressive stuff. I assume you've done the normal gently tighten and the loosen attempt? For any rusted bolts I let it soak for 30-60 mins.

I'd say heating the engine won't help much as the whole head and sparks heat together.

Be careful you don't want to cross the threads :(

Yeah I've tried gentley tighten and loosen approach there was no give in teh plug either way. Don't want to force the plugs either way, just in case the thread gets fooked.

Is it a 05- Focus by chance?, If so not unknown to have to remove rocker cover to get them out....

03 Fiesta, the duratec engine so could well be the same engine design, the annoying thing is the plugs are at the back of the engine and are very awkward to get at.

Heres a tip, pour some Coca cola into the spark plug and leave for 6 hrs.
Best use for that vile stuff.
Its pretty impressive on Fords with the extra long threads.
I saw it work just this week, the bar was bending and a little bit more pressure would have snapped the plug, put some coke in and left till after lunch, they just wound out as easy as you like.
You don't need a vast quantity maybe 10-15ml.
