Is the Charitable Trust for amateur players or does it cover the professional players too. Surely, the professional players should have enough cover from their employer and personal insurance.

I'm well aware of the injuries that may occur while playing rugby and I'm delighted that there is such a thing a the trust, my question was is it only for amateur players or does it include the pro players as well.

Doesn't really answer my query. I suppose it covers all players.

I think in the early days of the H/cup in Thomond Park there used to be collections for the trust, maybe the IRFU and the Supporters Clubs in the 4 provinces should try and tap into the support base once a year for something like €5 or €10 a head. It would surely be a welcome income to the trust.

It is set up to cover ALL such injuries, at ANY level of the game in Ireland. The work Mick Quinn and co. put in is massive.

Phog, there is a presence at that level, and even more so at the club level.

It might be good though to have a yearly drive through the supporters clubs or something

When renewing my MRSC membership I get an option to purchase a raffle ticket/s. An option to donate to the fund might add much needed funds to the coffers of the trust.
