    :mad::D he pulled it from the wall and cut it in two. Is there some kind of connector i can get to patch it up?

    thanks. I went to an electrical store and they gave me two of the coaxial connectors and a joiner not sure what you call them like the ones you use to connect terrestrial to a tv.
    they did advise me to run a new cable eventually but they told me that this would work fine for now but its not working, still getting no signal. am i doing something wrong or should this work ?

    make sure the outer braid doesn't touch the inner

    that's tv connectors, satellite runs at much higher frequency , also power is sent down the cable to the LNB , so may not be good enough

    also if the cable was kinked or stretched or pulled out of the back of the SKY box that can upset it too

    Wrong type of connectors. You must solder them but even then there's a chance of "no satellite signal" on some channels.

    thanks yeah i have already ordered them ones online earlier today. i just popped into to the electrical yesterday to see if he had those but the ones he gave me obviously weren't the right ones
