By its nature probably people on phones, they aren't great for doing topic searches on.

It's extremely well advertised to be fair. The large trailer sign flashing "enforced reduced limit" of did it for me.

    Really, this thread again?

Maybe instead of the Speed Camera signs the whole way along that road, then the massive flashing orange LED TV they should just have a link to this forum

Also huge pictures of speed cameras for the past month at least.

It's about time they enforced the limit, many many people were blasting along there without any thought for the fact that they're passing through a construction site and surface layouts are changing from time to time as the work progresses.

I have been witness to both sides of the carriageway being monitored.

I'd say 90% of traffic going through there (both directions) ignore the temporary speed limit and once they do it's very difficult to stick to it... for example if you're in overtaking lane (bonus points for me for using its name correctly), and traffic to the left of you is going 60-70km/hr... it tends to bunch up tightly so your only alternative is to accelerate up to perhaps 90-100 and pull in to the left or simply stick to the limit in the overtaking lane in which case you're gonna cause one heck of a tailback....

Pro Tip: If it's me driving i tend to find some big vehicle i.e. lorry or bus to stay behind as i find they find to stick to limits better, probably because drivers are more familiar with the area & location of cameras or get tips from their colleagues...

You are worrying about sticking to the speed limit in case of causing a tailback?
Look, I break the speed limit there all the time but at least I am not lying to myself about it.

is it not the case that the garda vans flash and its the new private vans that use infa red .
so if you did,nt get the flash ,then you did,nt get done .

Definitely didn't flash.........loads of cars, trucks etc going over the 60kmh, myself included - wouldn't mind but i always sit at 60 or less but today i'd a bit of an emergency at home and was in a panic to get there - hopefully didn't get caught but won't hold my breath (unmarked front facing camera van)

The one on the airport exit seemed to be hitting traffic going away from the airport tonight. Atleast i pray it was. Possibly hit me on the way in, but on the way out i saw it flash when there was nothing coming in.

It was just before the the roadworks tonight in the 80 zone, just after the airport exit going northbound. Dunno if I got flashed or not, it did flash, I thought I was just under 80 and too far away from it, car in overtaking lane was definitely going over 80 but seemed to e too far gone to be the one getting flashed, could have been a delay though.

I got flashed along with 3 or 4 other cars a good 3 weeks ago now and haven't heard anything as of yet, though its a hertz car, anyone any ideas on how long it would usually take going through hertz?

Sitution is definitely improving. Many more drivers were observing the limits there today although there were still quite a few who were driving like it's 1989.

Saw an unmarked Garda car move in for a kill, though.

Sorry to bump this, I got nabbed on Saturday Evening at about 9 PM, I rang the RSA this morning to find out if I had penalty points. If I had them on Saturday would they be on the system by now? I know it takes a few weeks to get the in the post, up to six month theoretically, but if I did get them on that evening, would they be on the computer system by now??

You don't get the points until you pay the fine or go to court.
