Are the wheels too small on this A4

Some cars have their suspension higher than others. I'm not sure why but mine is the same, higher than other cars of same year and exact type. It's actually noticeably very high when you look at it. I thought people mostly lowered their cars suspension...

17's would fill the arches a bit better.

They're just small after market alloys, might be replicas, I'd say that car had steel wheels when new.

You're right OP, it looks a bit nuts if I'm honest, they don't suit that car at all.

Maybe aftermarket, certainly not very common to see, not necessarily a bad thing - less unsprung weight, taller shoulder tires fitted, more traction and better ride comfort. On a dynamic standpoint, the all popular skinny tires + big rims combination only makes sense if you plan to use the car exclusively around a track.

A lot of people confuse between the "looking cool" properties of big rims and their actual usefulness - less than zero on normal road/conditions.

I think they're genuine. Was looking at a second hand set for my car a couple of years ago. But decided against them for the same reason as the o/p. they looked ridiculously small on my car.

    Genuine i think.

TBH if they car was lowered it would look so much better without being felty.

They look to be standard 16" wheels, here is a similar car with the same wheels:

The gap seems bigger on the original post

They are definitely genuine I would say, my parents have the same model and same wheels, there were several options along with the s-line kit, the one in bazz's picture above is the more common wheel which is slightly different to the one in the op.

The gap between wheel arch and wheel does seem bigger in the one in the op though.

They're nicer in the flesh imo
