A quick glance at the product page- it looks nothing like a Husqvarna under the housing (aside from the fact that its a 2 stroke chainsaw). Its geared at the home user, while it appears to have pretty good safety features- personally I'd go for a Husqvarna any day of the week (its what I've always used and trust).

    Husqvarna 236 14" @ ~ €220 is what I have.

Lovely saw to work. Really light - you could carry it all day. Have a Hysky 365xp as well which now only gets used for really heavy work.

The 236 punches way above its weight. Its easy on fuel and you can pick up chains for it at under €10. Its hard to find a place to sharpen a chain for you these days for €10.

    Hi,

By coincidence I bought myself a P420, yesterday, second hand.
Need it to chop some wood, but I "don't know ****" about these machines.
    Can someone tell me:

    how to check the oil
where to fill petrol > it should be 2-stroke, right?
    general maintenance tips?

With kind regards and I appreciate your help,
    Timoo

Hi, looking for some advice on Partner Chainsaws.

I've used Partner, Jonsered and Stihl.

Partner are not much more than hobby saws imo, while the other two are semi-pro or pro depending on the model.

I really don't mean to be smart, but you should know ALOT more then how to check oil, fill petrol and general maintenance before you even try to fire this up.

I'd suggest at the very least, you Google for some chainsaw safety docs and videos and spend a few hours paying close attention to them. Some safety clothing wouldn't go amiss, and ear protection is vital.

Chainsaws are very dangerous, and I really don't want to come across preachy, but if you don't know the basics, it will be even more so.

Partner are sadly only a name now, stuck on to cheap hobby saws.
They used to make pro-saws but after they were brought out by E-lux their IP was used to build better husky saws.
They still make good consaws but thats about it.

Thanks. This saw is not for me, but a colleague
In any event he actually got a Stihl MS270 today with 18 inch bar. €525 if I remember rightly. I guess that's a good saw

    Where did he buy saw?
Was in with my Husky dealer on Tuesday, he told me he can't tell the difference between Chinese replicas and the genuine Husky on appearance or feel.
I believe the Stihl rip offs are as good.

    Be careful buying on web
