Am I the only one to have not foreseen the need for a loop through lead to give people their existing Analogue channels, after DSO yesterday from Newry TX?
I visited a handful of homes yesterday to help with the STB receiving Newry digital services (24)
Only BBC channels were being transmitted ,still the case this morning.
Anyone taking the aerial feed and putting in into the STB,would at that point have lost ITV CH4 etc.
They may not have had a male to female RF lead to loop through the box to restore these channels.
In none of the half dozen cases was such a lead mentioned by the installer.
Thy telling them that in order to receive RTE services from Black mountain Tx in SD,they will have to buy an HD box!

That is correct. Black mountain RTE is DVB-T2 and MPEG4 which requires a Freeview HD box even though the channels are not HD quality. With a freeview SD box you will not be able to watch RTE from Black mountain. Not on air until the 24th

And will be the case until stage 2 of DSO on Oct. 24, when the other 3 analogue channels will go, with the 2 remaining PSB muxes coming on at the relay sites & going to full power at the main stations, where the commercial muxes will also go to full power.

Just been pointed out to me that a number of STB;s have no loop through ,so aerial feed must be split prior to putting it into STB.Am I flogging a dead horse?

Really. Name and shame them. I've never come across one.
