    Hi all,

Only just found this forum! I've recently started watching Dexter (couple of months ago) and I've now caught up to where we are on US television, so it's going to be tough adjusting to watching one episode a week rather than 3 or 4 every other night. The same happened with me and Breaking Bad but I eventually got used to it.

    Anyway, great show IMO.

My favourite season has to be season 4 (Trinity) and I'd also rank that as one of my favourite seasons of television I've seen from any show. John Litgow was fantastic as Arthur Mitchell and the ending with Rita lying dead in the bath tub was something I never, ever seen coming (and I'm usually pretty sharp with these things).

My least favourite season would be season 5 (Jordan Chase). I felt it was a big step down from season 4 but then again if I had the 9 month break between seasons like those watching in real time did I may have felt differently. I also read that the main writer left after season 4 (leaving on a high I guess) so that will have had an effect too.

Season 6 was back up to its usual high standard although I did see the whole Deb loving Dexter thing coming a mile off. It was something I noticed in the very first episode in season 1 actually as I thought they were together for a few minutes before it was revealed they were half brother and sister and so had been waiting for it to surface again over the course of the show. As soon as Dexter mentioned something about having plans for the abandoned church and then Deb telling him to go there after Harrison's play it was obvious that she was going to catch him in the act, but it was still done brilliantly. I can't imagine how long that wait between seasons felt for those watching in real time after it ended with that cliffhanger!

I've been impressed with season 7 so far and it looks like it's going in the right direction. Another good thing is that the writers already know how the whole show is going to end, meaning that we should get a well planned and thought out season 7 with it all leading up to a decent ending when the show comes to a close in season 8.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Dexter deals with Deb looking over his shoulder and how he deals with Louis too this year. I also think he will end up getting close to this Hannah girl that is coming in next week (the former partner of Randall who killed himself by stepping in front of the truck) and this will bring trouble. He always does his best work alone! Another big story that will need sorting out is La Guerta, that one will be really interesting.

    :D

Yeah I also only started watching recently, watched all 6 seasons in about 3 weeks, love it. Don't get the hatred for seasons 5 & 6, while not as good as previous seasons it's still always enjoyable.

Season 4 was practically perfect in every way. 5 and 6 were not as good. Hence online haters.

Personally I thought the one with Jimy Smitts(season 3?) was very poor, although it ended brilliantly.

I have mixed feelings about this season so far, but episode 3 has improved my opinion. Deb glaring at him all the time was annoying me.

While it was an excellent season, there were a few unnecessary episodes in the middle; or the middle 3 or 4 episodes could have been told in 1 or 2 episodes without losing anything.

have to say that I am happy with the way season 7 is going so far. Think season 6 was very poor. some very bad acting and writing. the other characters such as quinn, massuto and baptista (sorry about the bad spelling) seem to have taken a back seat. in previous seasons they had a bit of a story going which was interesting imo.

I loved it at the start but I start to get annoyed with shows that seem to suspend the disbelief a bit too much. It's well past its sell by date at this stage.
