windscreen wipers not working

Hi all, I have a 01 fiat seciento and the the windscreen wipers arnt working, they were working fine ontill this morning then they seemed to get stuck in the up postion. they will move if you move them manually but when i flick the switch inside to car they dont move but I can hear the motor? running, any guess on what I…

they will move if you move them manually but when i flick the switch inside to car they dont move but I can hear the motor? running, any guess on what I could be and is it something that I could try and repair myself or am I better off just ringing my mechanic

could be a few things
Something might have got jammed in the wiper motor arm area.
Have a look into the grille where the motor is located

It also could be the linkage arm got loose/broken off and its just going back and forth next to the motor but not moving the wipers

See if you can locate the wiper motor and look from there.
