    I'm sure this is a question that gets asked alot - but who owns your mobile number? You or the company who you have a mobile contract with?

    Technically, probably comreg/the state. They're just assigned to an operator.

    Got bored and checked, they are definitely a public resource and not owned by the operator and are administered ultimately by ComReg.

    From a ComReg document :

    8.1
    The rights of Authorised Persons to numbers/number blocks
    1 Numbers are a public resource to be administered for the common good, initially in the form of a primary allocation or reservation by ComReg;
    ....

    7 No operator shall be entitled to ownership of, or to any other interest in, any number or numbers allocated to that operator, or to any customer thereof.
