Missed collecting my Jobseekers Allowance, help?

I was under the impressive that your Jobseekers Allowance arrived in Post Offices on the first Monday of every week, to be collected between Monday-Friday. However, today I learned that it arrives on Wednesday, and that you have between Wednesday-Tuesday to collect it.

I have collected mine the last couple weeks on Wednesday 3rd October and Monday 24th September, which means I missed collecting the Jobseekers Allowance for the week beginning Wednesday 26th September and ending Tuesday 2th October.

Does anyone know how I can sort out getting this back pay? The Post Office tells me it’s expired.

Please, no spam comments about being on Jobseekers, I have been working extremely hard to find employment for a long time now, and have had to eat into my meagre savings to pay for flights to the likes of London for job interviews.

Well your payment is likely to have been stopped since you never collected it. You will need to go to your local office and explain why you didnt collect it.

^^^ If you read the first post you would have seen that he has received payment since he missed. OP, your best bet is to contact your local social welfare and explain the mix-up you made with your dates. Since you have only missed one payment I can't see there being much problem. They should organise it so that you're paid your arrears.

This actually happened to my sister, but luckily for her the post office worker told her that her payments were coming in on Monday instead of Wednesday.

It takes about 2 weeks for uncollected payments return from the post office to the social welfare. Social welfare will not know if you claimed it or not until it is returned uncollected
