Missing some uk freeview channels in wicklow

I posted this in broadcasting and was advised to post it here.

I am receiving Saorview and UK Freeview digital channels Via an aerial set up.

The signal quality is showing on the stb as very good and I can tune in alot of the UK channels

But on C45 and C50 I dont have any signal even though there should be.

Is anyone receiving all the UK Freeview Channels in ireland.

the aerial is pointing at the Presely Transmitter

    Set up information
I am located near Roundwood in an area that according to ukfree.tv has coverage (green) from Presely.

I am using a wideband grid type aerial with a high gain (27db) mast head amp. It is mounted on the chimney with a standard aerial bracket Just at ridge height, I tested the signal higher up but there was no improvement.

The channels I am getting have strong signal that seems reliable.
The same aerial is pulling in saorview (kippure C54) on the back.

Any comments or advice would be appreciated

Channel 45 will be subject to interference from Mt. Leinster Saorview until November 14th. Channel 50 is the HD mux. Do you have a Freeview HD (DVB-T2) receiver?

There will be channel changes at Preseli on Oct. 31st, with the HD mux. moving to ch. 40 & Arq.B mux. moving from ch. 49 to 39.

Didn't you have these questions answered on your thread yesterday?

    Thanks Peter
As I was unable to receive any signal from mt Leinster when testing signals so I had dismissed it as a potential problem :o

I connected up an old freeview receiver and got 74 TV channels compared with 36 on the generic digital receivers I am using.

So apart from C50 DVB-T2 it seems like I am missing a lot with the generic receivers.

Are there any receivers that will get the freeview channels (even excluding t2) and saorview

Yes mark you did answer the questions on that thread, the C50 problem you cleared up perfectly.

in your answer to C45 you said mt lenister was probably blocking the signal, I was looking to see if anyone could confirm this issue and get some other feedback.
And as ger roe suggested it would be best to repost here before you answered, I thought It would get more opinions, discussion here.

We can't be 100% sure that Mt. Leinster is the problem, but it seems a likely candidate. You'll get more of an idea when they switch off the ch. 45 transmissions.

 Presumably these 74 channels don't include those on ch. 45?

Any Saorview box will also decode Freeview SD. You'd be better off going with a Freeview HD receiver, as these will also decode the Saorview channels.

Well it is the only feasible explanation we have so far so its a matter of wait and see.

I just checked again and Yes that is without any of the C45 channels, there are a few scrambled channels and a few that say they need a hd freeview receiver.

It looks like I will be looking out for a freeview HD receiver then

Yes. Some of the channels that say you need a freeview hd receiver are probably those listed currently in the 200 section. These will also require an ethernet connection as they are delivered over the web on compatible Freeview HD boxes. I probably wouldn't worry about trying to receive those.

CH. 45 will be some sort of interference between the two signals and if you don't have a freeview hd box, channel 50 will be missing. That channel is due to move frequency later this month.
