Looking out for a fiat 80/90 ...I've been told that the hydraulics in the older fiats can be slow.......would it be very noticble when using the lift for silage bales? i wouldnt be putting a loader on it.....

A neighbour has one of these tractors with a loader and I have often driven it at bales. Also drove similar machines for an Ag contractor years ago. There is no bother with the rear lift as regards performance -absolutely no bother lifting bales and i could not call the lift response slow. It is true however that the front loader is a little slower than you would like.

To me these fiats are among the best tractors of the late 80's - early 90's and are pretty bulletproof, great engines, gearbox, lift, etc, and easy & cheap to repair. Cabs can get a bit rusty - try to get one after aprox 92 when cabs were galvanised. I'd recommend them as a simple, solid work horse

Only slow if the filter is getting dirty or the pump is on the way out, simple fix pump is external and you'd change it in fifteen minutes, great tractors ,as said above simple solid workhorse rust is the problem

i dont think the cabs were ever galvinised the bonnet and sides were,i drive a 97 100/90 not mine thankfully, theres lots of rust around the cab at the bottom of the windscreen and back window another big rust patch on the roof, they wouldnt be my choice for a tractor legroom would be an issue for me,also too dear for what they are.

When u say it is faster, does that mean it will be stronger? I have a 1988 fiat 70 90.

'Faster' means a bigger flowrate pump. 'Stronger' has to do with pressure, which is set from the main relief valve.
