I remember i lost my key off my old mondeo, rang Ashley ford on the North Circular i think it was, they asked for a number off the log book and the replacement key was in around the 130/140 mark i think....

You have few choices I'm afraid. Pay ford for a replacement key although I don't know why they want you to tow the car to them. They should be able to cut it from the vin number.

Get a locksmith out and get them to cut and code a key.

Get a set of locks/ingition and key from a breakers and get an auto electrician to disable the imobilizer.

Did you check to see if your insurance covers you for lost keys??

Say a prayer to St Anthony.

If that doesn't work, ring around Ford garages and get the cheapest price. What magic solution are you hoping for?

Try a few different dealers?? A locksmith would come to you but I don't know how much they would charge..

Try your insurance company to see if they cover lost keys.

The only way you can get the car to them is on a recovery truck or car transporter as you can't tow it as the steering will be locked.

Try some of the ford forums. They may be of better help

    Www.talkford.com is one

If you replaced the key when you lost your first one you would not be in this mess. It would only cost about 60-80 for one when they have a key to copy.

There is no magic cheap solution to a lost modern car key I'm afraid.

Currently trying to get a spare for my 95 at the moment , which is a pain. But if I loose the current one it may cost 750 to get sorted as you have to buy a new module along with keys. Why do people loose they spare keys or just hold onto them when they sell a car, you keep the log book safe why not the spare key?
