Hi, a couple of years ago we got in the 'free to air' channels. We have a dish up on the side of the house for his. The 'sky' boxes are the old sky digital dinosaur boxes. That doesn't bother me, as they work fine. In an ideal world i'd like to buy a saorview box, plug it in and hey presto, the Irish channels would magically appear.

I understand this ain't gonna happen. we don't have nor ever did have an external aerial for irish tv. we just used the childs portable with the cats ears aerial when needed.

I saw advertised the saorview box and aerial for €100 euro. What would I (probably the hubby, in all fairness) need to do? Would it involve a tour of the attic/roof? Or should I just pay a fella to come in and do it?

    Thanks :-)

Don't attempt the roof if not confident. A professional should install a roof top aerial and supply a single Saorview box for less than 200 euro.

I would not recommend DIY. However you would need to have it completed by the 24th. All installers are very very busy.
