TRIAX TR112 - did software upgrade improve recording??

I am about to buy a TRIAX TR112 Saorview box. This is a certfied and approved box, but I have heard that it has a lot of issues with recording. Is this still true? Any recent experience in that regard?

There is some good info. on people's experiences.
