    Hi All

I will be heading to Dublin for a weekend soon with the MrsIneedanid.

Looking for a 3-4 star but a reasonable price too.

Is Bewleys in Ballsbridge too far from town to get back from nights out?

How far would it be to walk?

It'd be a fair walk depending on which part of the city you were planning on drinking in. Even from Stephen's Green I'd guess at least 30 minutes and if MrsIneedanid is in heels, it'll be a taxi for sure. It's a nice hotel though so if you bussed into town and taxi back, it wouldn't be too bad at all.

Have never had to stay in a hotel in dublin so can't really reccomend one.
I can say that Its a fairly long walk to bewleys from town, even if you only stick around the Baggot Street area. As a general rule, you want to stay inside the canals if you want to have a short walk home from a night out.

Agree with previous poster regards Bewleys.

Occasionally some good deals on the O'Callaghan hotels - Montclare, Davenport or Alexander - check out on www.booking.com

All of these are near to Merrion Square, 5-10 minutes walk to Temple Bar, nice area and some decent bars very near by.

The Clarion Hotel was the nicest place I've ever stayed in, on the quays there. 3-star but should be a 4-star-immaculate and really lovely views over the Liffey. Really good price too.

Great location near Stephens Green area plus you get free into one of the best niteclubs in Dublin - it's a win-win!:D

Ignore this advice unless you're 18.

The Gresham is a nice, old-school hotel and very centrally located on O'Connell St, as is Jury's on Parnell St and usually incredibly reasonably priced. Personally, I tend to stay in The Burlington which is a stone's throw off of Leeson St and moments away from Stephen's Green. The rooms are spacious and there's a nice bar downstairs that serves surprisingly tasty food.

Jury's in Ballsbridge is a little closer to town than Bewley's, as it's pretty much just off of Baggot St and is also inexpensive, clean and comfortable.
