sound and picture lose sync on Soarview

My self and my wife and also my mother-in-law (Meath & West Cork) often complain about the sound and picture losing sync and presenters appear to be lip-syncing on live TV.

Has anyone else had the same issue? I've had other problems like outages, I'm sure they might be rectified in time though. The VHF/UHF aerial on the roof is less than ten years old. Cabling is quite new as are the connections.

    Any ideas??

What are you receiving Saorview on? I've noticed that some set top boxes seem worse than others on lip sync.

Watching it on a Finlux TV set. I have to say it happens a good bit in my mother in laws house too. On both her TVs

I sometime put up the subtitle because I have hearing difficulties. I notice that when I go to 3e, the subtittles don't match the scene on the TV. What is wrong here does anyone know?

Does the lipsync problem go away if you flip channel up and down?

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

The very odd time it does. If the sync is fine and then you change channel when the adverts come on, once you switch back it's a mess. Doesn't happen on the older analogue TV (without set top box) in the kitchen for example.

It's been out of sync on upc analogue cable for almost two weeks now...

I met the 'sync' problem last night.

I use an Ariva 120 ... so pressed 'Pause' for ~2 secs and 'Pause' again to continue .... and the pic/audio synced up properly.

This has happened to me a few times but I just change channels and change back. This seems to do the trick.
