PAYPAL HELP!

Ok so i sold an item in early September i now received a message this morning saying:
'The buyer has filed a chargeback with his or her credit card company stating that the buyer did not authorize the payment. The credit card company has reversed the payment, and we've placed a temporary hold on the funds while we review this case. If this transaction is covered by protection against unauthorized payments, we'll lift the temporary hold and restore the funds to your account. If the transaction is not eligible, we'll return the funds to the buyer or the rightful owner.'

so now my funds are on hold, and what makes it worst is that i don't have the receipt i threw some away recently this transaction was so long ago i never thought it was a problem. Is there anything i can do? i know paypal usually side with the buyer so i just know they will this time. It's so annoying about 2 years ago i remember i sold a jacket on ebay & the buyer opened a claim saying i hadn't posted it, they received it about 2 days later & left me postive feedback but didnt close the claim so paypal refunded her so she got money back & item for nothing. I think my selling days are over. Does anyone know if i can try anything else?

Nothing you can do. Payal are infamous for such tricks.

Had this happen a few years back. Twice on stuff I sold to Hungry and Russia, and another payment held, but released after a few months, for another Russian sale.

Best thing you can do is sell locally only (less delivery issues) or accept wire transfer instead of paypal. Cant reverse a wire transfer 2 years later :)

Happened us too, a payment had not been authorised , and the buyer got their money back and kept the item.

Don't let this deter you from selling again.

Wow, I only use Paypal an odd time, so I wouldn't have a clue about this stuff. This is probably gonna sound like a stupid question to the more experienced/advanced online-shoppers/buyers, but if she left you positive feedback to the effect that she received the item, does this not put you in the clear, how can she still get her money back off ya?!? If it's on record that she left you feedback, - she obviously must have received the item, would this not be the general consensus that she received it or is there other factors involved? I don't understand. :/

I'd consider the likes of Paypal and all those services to be a great set-up. :/ I'd never think under-hand in-advertent issues would arise after the Sale is pretty-much finished and over with, and done-and-dusted, sent and received, and feedback left on both sides and all that. This is seriously a wake-up call. :(

Its basically your word against the buyer. PayPal might dispute the chargeback but the decision is with the buyers bank. Without a postage receipt or tracking number itll be hard to get your funds. Did you try to contact the buyer just to ask did they accidentally file a chargeback!
