It's not even the middle of October and the shops have the selection boxes, chocolate santas and mince pies on display.
Local newspapers are full of businesses pumping there establishment to entice Christmas parties,
Once Halloween passes the Crimbo music will start in the shops but already I passed a house at the weekend and they had the holy on the door with s big sparkly tree in the front window,I thought it was for a joke but app they stick it up the 1st of Oct each yr.
Anyone else think all this Christmas cheer is way to early.

The shops only stock the stuff due to a demand from a small but vocal contingent of customers. I worked in a department store for 6 years and would usually open the decorations part in late Sept. I remember some mad aul bint giving out YARDS about it being so early...while we scanned her purchase of tree decorations...
Shops won't give over valuable floor space unless they know it'll sell.
FYI, I don't buy Xmas stuff until after 1st Nov as a rule, and I'm a big Xmas fan.

PS: Whoever puts up their tree on 1st Oct needs help.

I like to celebrate Christmas in October, New Years Eve at the beginning of November, then Easter and Paddys Day around the end of December.

That way I can have a clear run of the year.

I ate a chocolate Santy from aldi the other day. Not as good as the chocolate bunny from Easter but I'd still recommend it

    Pretty much this.

If it's too early for the tins of sweets to be in the shops, it's too early to start a thread in AH >.<
