I know this was dealt with a long time ago, but could anyone let me know how to update/backup Saorview channels for this TV. Am going to loose the Saorview channels when RTENL change the channel for DTT ex Clermont Carn - the old Panasonic issue. I never had all the channels, just the original five. Thought it would be worth a go at this late stage. I have searched the forum, but don't know which advice is the most comprehensive. Thanks.

You can do the pani hex editor hack or use Setedit Panasonic PC channel software for the G10.

If RTÉ are going to change the channel no. then you will lose your channels as they will then be on a different ch. no. and frequency.

However you can actually retune the TV using a little hack of the tv. as I posted here a while back.

When I retune my G10B I would lose all the channels until you hack the tv and do a hexedit.

Read and follow the instructions carefully and it should be ok.

Thanks For all that, will certainly have a go, but what order do I perform these steps in.

Firstly backup your current tuning as per the "SD Backup Instructions" you can then just copy the cards contents to the PC should it not work or something happen.

Once you have your current tuning firstly backed up then go ahead and first follow the hex edit instructions to change the TV model to GW10, then consult the 2nd guide which is the "Saorview tuning using Hex Edit" and you will then have to follow the 3rd SD Backup Instructions mid way through again.

Thanks again for the info, I finally got round to doing this, took the plunge no mistakes made and got all Saorview channels tuned in with full names, digital Aertel & EPG. The only problem I have is when I return the TV to G10B and the backup is used to restore the 7 Saorview channels, the Freeview ones are what seems like overwritten. If I do a manual Freeview scan all are found but will not display. So I can have either Saorview or Freeview but not both. When the TV was in GW10 mode I did tune in and copied the Freeview ones as well as Saorview, could this be the problem or does the pwd file overwrite the TV list no matter what it (the pwd file) contains. I can go back and tune only the Saorview channels in GW10 mode and try again - any advice before doing that:confused:

It is maybe a better idea to use the Setedit Panasonic editor.

Thanks, had a look at that, wouldn't know how to use it though, is there any instructions to do this if I wanted to?

1 Remove Freesat channels While in freesat mode press:- menu -> setup-> freesat tuning menu -> autosetup "all freesat tuning data will be erased" appears on screen click ok. When all channels are removed, interrupt rescan before any freesat channels are detected. If the freesat channels are not removed all current freesat channels are deleted from freesat category and are placed in "other satellite" when file is modified in setedit.
2 Save TV settings to SD card Insert SD card that contains an empty file called "hotel.pwd". Enter:- 4850. When data saved remove card from TV.
3 Edit svl file Open the .svl file on SD card in Setedit (assuming set edit previously installed) Modify terrestrial channels/frequency as required. (keep the list of modifications less than twenty between each save if using demo version) The software is intuitive to use but maybe make a backup of the .svl file before you make any modifications. Save the modified file.
4 Load modified settings data onto TV Insert sd card back into tv. Enter 4851
5 Re-load Freesat channels Enter freesat mode press:- menu -> setup-> freesat tuning menu -> autosetup

Thanks a million, got my TX-P42G10B re-tuned in for Saorview Channels 1->8 from Clermont Cairn. Squeaky bum moment having to turn TV off at plug after resetting Shipping condition.

Aertel and now and next, TV3 NAR sound issue still there but the missus is happier now....phew.

If anyone needs a copy of the hotel.pwd file I could post it up.

    Cheers
    Mick

I haven't got back to my own TV, but how did it go with Freeview channels (i.e. if you are able to get them)

UK Freeview channels are there too, you just have to place them in your own order to suit. I have Saorview channels set as 1 through to 8. Otherwise they'll be starting at 800. BBC 1 is at 829.

No programme information but happier now.

Will this Hex edit work for the TX-L32X10B?
    OR
Has anyone got a Hotel file for this model?

    Quote from STINICKER
'Print out the instructions and read them before doing it to make sure you know what you're doing. This workaround only works for Panasonic G10B models (screen size is irrelevant) and will not work with any other models that I know of.'
