Basically Ford bonnet latch where you twist back ford logo twist one way to pop and second way to release, i turn key to make it up and nothing happens.

Anyone know a quick fix for this ?

    Sounds like a mk 1 focus ?

The locks wear on these, need to be replaced.

If you can get the bonnet open once, remove the barrel from the lock Lock screws to the front panel from the inside, remove lock, barrel then slides out, reassemble without barrel and use large flat screwdriver to open bonnet until you get another lock.

If you can't get the lock open one last time you may have to butcher the grille to get access.

    Mk2 ST yes?

There is a plastic link rod between the bit you put the key in and the actual bonnet release mechanism. Predictably enough it breaks very regularly. You can only buy the link rod as part of a lock kit. Can't remember the cost offhand. I think I have posted previously on here about the same issue.

Long term solution to the problem would be to buy a GTI :pac:

If it is a MK1 focus then the keys themselves can wear badly leading to them simply not operating the barrel especially on the bonnet lock as it is rarely used compared to the ignition etc so hasn't worn with the key.
