been messing around with google maps lately.
the end result being a map of the farm layout, paddocks, roads, rivers, water throughs etc still messing around with it at the moment.

i started with http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps in satellite view, then traced around the paddocks etc changed to map view, then used the snip tool to take a screen shot of the map, that can be printed

looks a bit better when zoomed out

You can edit your maps if you are on agfood. Add in stuff, redraw boundaries etc. Think its a recent addition to the online service.

I added maps for rented land on the agfood website this year, went through no problem, its a little awkward but haven't got any letters and my disadvantaged area reflected the new total afterwards aswell. Easier than getting maps etc and posting them

the maps aren't an exact map, and are no use for official use.
buy can be used to give to a contractor/ worker to show where to go, what field to work or what parts of field to avoid as wet, farm walks etc.
more a tool for day to day running of farm.

I think its as accurate as you are going to get. Dep of Ag provide it and will accept it for applications. What more can one ask for?
