You can order it from the website www.welfare.ie

Click 'online services' on the menu along the top right hand side. On the next page click 'want to use other online services' link at the bottom of the page. And you will see a link for Social Insurance Record. Enter the requested details and they will post a complete list of contributions paid to date.

Anyone who is emigrating and who has ever worked in Ireland should look for one of these, as it will help you get benefits in EU (and maybe some non-EU) countries.

If you are moving to Ireland you should get one from the relevant Department in the country you are leaving.

You will get it in about 5 working days. It comes all the way from Donegal.
