    Hi,

My 2006 Sorento recently failed the DOE because of a leak in the shock.
When I went to get the shocks replaced I was informed they are over €500 each.

It failed on a visual inspection only, I was wondering is there any chance that maybe the inspector got it wrong or if not is it possible to repair rather than replace shocks.

Failing that has anyone had this problem before and if so is there any other way of fixing this problem other than forking €1000 for shocks

They have self levelling suspension in the rear and that is the price of the shocks unfortunately. If one is leaking then it needs replacing, there is no easy way out of it. You may get away with just replacing one rather than the pair.
